NHS IC presents new information on hospital patient outcomes with first summary of linked deaths data
The NHS Information Centre has published its first national summary of work to link hospital (HES) data with death records from the Office for National Statistics (ONS). This includes data on deaths that occur outside of hospital after a patient had been discharged, which alongside new data about deaths occurring in hospital, provides an unprecedented picture of hospital patient outcomes.

Feeling better? Improving patient experience in hospital
Understanding and improving how patients experience their care is a key component to successfully delivering high-quality services that are based on their needs. This report from the NHS Confederation looks at what we know about improving patients’ experiences of hospital care and shares emerging evidence that hospital boards can achieve better outcomes across their whole organisation when patient experience is a priority.

National cancer patient experience survey 2010 – trust level reports
ULHT in the 2010 National Cancer Patient Experience Survey, rarely fell into the top 20% of highest scoring Trusts for any of the benchmarks outlined in this survey. Indeed in the benchmarks, indicated by a red plus symbol, it scored amongst the lowest 20% of Trusts.

Bereavement care services: a synthesis of the literature
